Poetry People

Are you a poetry person? This was metaphor you. Poetry People is a monthly subscription box service for lovers of all things poetry and art— with the goal of introducing people to poetry and poetry to people. Each month, Poetry People send out themed subscription boxes designed around their chosen poet of the month. Along with the featured book of the month, Poetry People’s subscription boxes are filled with curated art and merchandise inspired by that month’s poetry collection. Poetry People’s mission is to bring words to life and create an immersive poetic experience, both visually and through language.

As well as creating Poetry People, Ellen finished writing her second poetry collection, “If Hearts Had Training Wheels” to be published and featured as the book of the month in April’s subscription box.

She also designed, formatted, and illustrated the entire 328-page book. In this collection, Ellen relates maneuvering through life’s obstacles to learning how to ride a bike. Ellen Everett places readers on the seat of a bicycle and guides them through a five-part journey, beginning in The Gravel Driveway and ending with The Downhill Coast. Through falls, unexpected turns, and uphill climbs, the reader embarks on this journey of self-discovery with the author, resulting in a powerful transformation of the mind and heart.
More about the book: This collection of poetry offers a poignant perspective on regaining balance and finding oneself after abuse, heartache, love, and loss. It also explores the internal conflicts, doubts, and fears that come with transitioning into adulthood—the hardships that ultimately lead to strength, growth, and an unshakeable appreciation for life.
