Optimist Brew

This project is highly relevant to current times, as it mirrors the experiences of many college students and young adults in 2023 who are living with one or more family members. Even if someone has moved out of their home, they may still experience feelings of stagnancy at some point in their life. As a result, I created this a newspaper company to establish a safe space for individuals to share their experiences and offer an optimistic outlook to those who may be in a similar situation. It's important to give people community and a reason of hope while the world feels like it's in shambles. Symbolically speaking, a doorway is another world, a new beginning, challenge or opportunity. Optimist Brew acknowledges that while feeling like you're stuck in this doorway, you're making more progress than you think you are. We should all strive to find contentment in the present moment, even as we work toward a brighter future. This is Optimist Brew.

The story behind the name Optimist Brew is to spark interest. "Is this a coffee company? A trendy beer company? A cafe?" you might ask. Nope, it's a weekly newspaper about the good news! While you sip your morning brew, we will provide you an Optimistic perspective to start off your day. The first edition of the newspaper includes an article about living at home, an interview, and other hopeful news that will inspire others. The posters are geared toward the aesthetic and advertising of the brand itself, but surely makes a statement about Optimist Brew as a whole. These posters are designed to be put up in a home as the first edition discusses the topic of home. The matchboxes are relevant as having a tangible newspaper in front of you, it's the same. It's merely analog. The stationery set includes postcards, an envelope, notepad, and sticky notes. This is created to encourage others to write and send something to a friend or loved one. With this being said, it's build a sense of community know that you are not alone. Which is what OB is all about!
