Glorifying the Pedestal is inspired by the effects of celebrity power. I have recognized that there is a split between good and bad celebrities that have financial and influential power. I wanted to create awareness around this subject by displaying both sides of whether or not celebrities should have this power. The awareness campaign depicted consists of posters, playing cards, buttons, stickers, and dust jackets all inspired by an art nouveau/ rococo aesthetic. Celebrities can be seen as a higher being, and I wanted to further that depiction through an embellished aesthetic with crowns. I would like the viewer to see the factual evidence of the two sides and infer their own opinion on whether celebrities deserve their pedestal.
