Copper Cart Initiative was inspired by a simple observation: the abundance of pennies going unused and unwanted. Recognizing the untapped power in spare change, I wanted to create a charity that promoted both sides of the penny debate, helping others understand that even though a few coins don’t mean a lot to them, the power each cent can hold for someone else in need is much greater than we realize. The awareness campaign depicted in my project consists of posters, commercials, and donation boxes, all inspired by the theme of an old grocery store. Using themes you would have seen somewhere such as an old Alpha Beta or A&P, the idea that such small contributions could add up to something much greater redefines the impact of pennies for viewers, turning them from a forgotten currency into catalysts for positive change. At Copper Cart Initiative, we have one goal: to give your pennies a new purpose.
