Redefine
Redefine’s mission is to empower and protect people of all genders, sexual orientation, and cultural beliefs. Our organization embraces diversity, educates people about discrimination, and gives advice on how to handle discriminatory situations. We do this to help everyone better understand and respect each other so that we can live in a more positive and healthier environment.
The name “Redefine” came from the definition which is to define again or differently. We would like to change people’s perspective/idea of how they view or stereotype different individuals depending on gender identity, sexual orientation, and religious/cultural beliefs. This is an ongoing problem that I would like to help alleviate by conditioning people to consider the way others would like to be treated versus how you think or assume they should be treated. We also have seminars about setting boundaries, microaggression, and problem solving to address and reverse situations before they become a problem.
Our tagline is “Expose the fine lines.”
The word expose means to reveal the true, objectionable nature of someone or something.
Fine line figuratively refers to a difference or distinction between something. Therefore, the full meaning of the tagline is to reveal the true distinction between something.
Our community also has a podcast where we embrace differences by encouraging the audience to participate in sending letters telling us about their stories, experiences, or topic ideas. Our podcast also has monthly topics/discussion revolved around holidays and annual observances. There is a calendar to keep up with what monthly topics we do. It has the day episodes will be released along with holidays from varieties of different heritages, cultures, genders, and sexualities.
In conclusion, all these elements together formulate Redefine’s campaign. Our organization hosts fundraisers, take educational field trips, conducts seminars, and has a podcast to help people of different beliefs or upbringing better understand each other in hopes to see the world from other points of view and treating others the way they would like to be treated. Our goal is to provide a safe community for people to express and embrace themselves while being free from judgement.
